Palantir Extends 'Tiberius' Vaccine Data Contract With $63 Million Award

Palantir on July 22 was issued a $63 million, two-year contract by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department to extend use of the Tiberius data platform for tracking Covid-19 vaccine data.

Although Palantir's work on Tiberius was first revealed by the Wall Street Journal in October 2020, details on the contracts for the effort have been scarce. However, the first Tiberius contract appears to have been a $16 million, six-month contract issued in July 2020. The new award appears to extend funding at close to the same level.

Palantir is acting as a subcontractor to re-seller I3 Federal on Tiberius, which adapts Palantir's Foundry platform. The extension comes after some initial criticism of the platform from state health officials.
