FBI Plans Enterprise-Wide Low Code Platform Buy

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is planning to buy an enterprise-wide low code platform, according to a request for information released March 16.

The bureau intends to hold an open competition for a commercial-off-the-shelf software platform that provides "robust rapid application development and hosting capabilities to meet the immediate and future workflow needs of the FBI enterprise, inclusive of its entire employee and contractor workforce of 51,000 full-time personnel," according to the RFI.

Responses to the RFI are due May 10. An RFI is a precursor to a formal solicitation.

Among potential competitors, Pegasystems has an active contract with the FBI to provide business process management software that generates $2.6 million per year. Appian has a broader customer base among federal government agencies, but doesn't appear to have an active deal with the FBI.
