Posted on June 07, 2018

Boeing's Insitu has secured a deal to install drones on the Coast Guard's National Security Cutters worth up to $117 million over one year. The contract, signed yesterday, marks a substantial expansion of the Coast Guard's use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The service previously procured Insitu's ScanEagle UAS surveillance services for one national security cutter under a task order with a maximum value of $12.3 million over four years.

Insitu beat out one other bidder for the new contract.
